American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society.

Society of Professional Students (SOPS)
The Society of Professional Students is a loosely organized group at the California Institute of Technology that sets up various activities for the Thomas building residents. All graduate students of Thomas and AM/CE/ME students who aren't in the Thomas building are automatic members of SOPS.

Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
The Society of Women Engineers is a national organization devoted to the advancement and education of women in science and engineering. Its members are professional engineers and engineering students. The national organization provides scholarships and a free resume database.
